The New York Athletic Club's basketball teams are made up of former professional and college players. There are two teams: NYAC Elite (comprised of Elite Athletic members) and NYAC A (comprised of standard members). Both teams compete in the National Club championships in their respective divisions.
The NYAC is the current national champion in the Elite division after winning the title in Columbus in 2025, marking ten titles over a twenty-year span.
The NYAC Elite Team has traveled as far as China to compete in the "Friendship Games" and recently defeated the Olympic Club in the biennial Humphrey-Thompson Cup.
