NYAC Lacrosse: Building a Powerhouse

Four members of the NYAC men’s team represented the Club on the United States Lacrosse Team in the World Championships in Perth, Australia in August 2002. The US team, with its four Club competitors, took the gold medal.  NYAC Lacrosse has been recognized by the United States Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum as the oldest active lacrosse team in the United States. In the NYAC Hall of Fame, our members will find on display the first National Championship Lacrosse Trophy won in 1891. Our athletes have represented the NYAC and their country in both International World Cups, as members of the United States Teams in World Championships, and in National Club competitions.

All members of the team have reached All-American status at the collegiate level, prior to their making the NYAC Team. Athletes from the men’s program have represented the NYAC on the U.S. National Teams. NYAC Coaches have been selected as Coach of the Year. Home games will be played at Travers Island. Away competitions will be played in New York and Philadelphia.
