Knights of the Green Table

Founded in 1926, the Knights of the Green Table were established to promote the pleasures of pool, snooker and carom billiards. The home for the KGT has been the Billiards Room on the10th Floor of the NYAC building constructed in 1928. The tables in the room are all Brunswick-Balke-Collender from

the 1920’s – six pocket billiards, four snooker and two carom billiards.

Tables for cocktails and dining surround the action area proving plenty of space for game participants.

There are approximately fifty Intra-Clubs in the NYAC. Most members belong to more than one. The KGT offers more opportunities for involvement than any other intra club. They have a handicap system that makes it possible for players of every skill level to participate and have fun.

The KGT participated in the founding of the International Snooker League and the New York Club Billiards Association that give members the opportunity to compete locally and internationally at a very high level.

The Billiards Room serves all NYAC members and their guests as well as “hotel” guests in the building. Step back into history, relax, entertain and have fun on the 10th floor of the City Building.
