Waiver

I am the Parent (or Guardian) of the child named above.
I acknowledge that I have read and understand this agreement and release, that I am signing and entering into this agreement voluntarily and in consideration of my child’s participation in the Team and that I have not relied on any representation that is not specifically set forth above in entering into this agreement and release.
This agreement and release shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York.
I, on behalf of myself, the child and any other parent or guardian, release, discharge and covenant not to sue on account of any claims of liability caused by or resulting from the passive or active negligence on the part of the NYAC, to the fullest extent permitted by law, relating to my child’s participation in the Team. If any portion of this agreement and release shall be held to be invalid, then the remaining portion shall continue in full force and effect. This release is intended for the benefit of the NYAC and its officers and governors, members, employees, staff, instructors, agents, volunteers and affiliates.
I understand and acknowledge that sports and related activities can require strenuous physical activity and exertion. My child has received regular medical examinations and is in good health and I am not aware of any physical or medical condition that would restrict my child from participating in this Team. If I should become aware of any such condition, I will inform you and will not permit my child to attend the Team while such condition exists.
I understand and acknowledge that the sports and related activities involve some inherent risks of injury, including serious injury, to its participants, that I have evaluated and appreciate the nature of such risks, and they are voluntarily assumed.
I understand and acknowledge that the Team and its facilities and equipment are for instructional and not recreational or amusement purposes.
I consent to and give permission for the child’s participation in the New York Athletic Club Youth Teams sponsored by the New York Athletic Club of the City of New York, Inc. (NYAC) at its facilities at 31 Shore Road, Pelham, New York 10803.
I give permission for my child's likeness to be used in social media or marketing materials used by the NYAC.

Policies

Registration Policy

Participants may choose between swimming only, diving only, or swimming and diving.
Participants must be listed on the member's account and be pool members. Please reach out to Travers Island Membership office regarding an application.
Cancellations must be received by August 5th, 2026. Failure to communicate about a cancellation will result in a 50% charge of the program fees.
Refunds and/or makeup days will not be given due to sickness, inclement weather or vacations.

Arrival / Dismissal Policy

Please meet at the Travers Island Pool to drop off and pick up.
Children must check in with a staff member upon arrival.
Children under the age of 14 years old will not be permitted to leave without a parent or guardian.

Guest Policy

Guests are not permitted to attend the Junior Swim and Dive Team.

Medical Form / Consent Form Policy

Waivers and valid medical forms, including a physical and immunization record with a signature or stamp from a doctor's office, are required to be submitted prior to participating.

Transportation Policy

Transportation is now available for our NYC residents to take advantage of our Junior Programs at Travers Island. Children will be able to participate in one of the four packages described below, get access to transportation, and explore Travers Island. Children will be picked up by a private bus company beginning at 7:15am. There will be a dedicated staff member who will check in and supervise the children on the bus. Children will be brought to Travers Island and dropped off at their morning program by staff. Once their morning program is over, they will be picked up by a staff member and have a light snack before going to their afternoon program. During the afternoon program, there will be a break for lunch which will be provided by the Club. At 3pm, the children will be picked up and brought to the buses for departure.
Pick-up and drop-off locations must be submitted at the time of registration. Cancellations or adjustments to the bus route must be made by May 15th, 2026, and e-mailed to [email protected]. Any cancellations or adjustments to the bus route made after the deadline will be subject to an administrative fee.
Parents/Guardians must be at the pick-up and drop-off location each day their child is registered. Names must be listed in the "Authorized Pick-Up/Drop-Off Contact" section of the registration. Parents/Guardians must present a valid form of identification to the staff member on board.
Additional authorized contacts must be at least 18 years old. Last minute authorization requests may be considered 24 to 48 hours before the pick-up and drop-off. All authorization requests will be confirmed by the Manager of Youth Programs.
Failure to have an authorized adult present or a valid form of identification at the pick-up and drop-off location will result in the child being brought to the City House and will be subject to a late pick-up fee.
