Cate Robbie was a New Jersey high school stand-out, with a best finish of seventh place finish at the 1998 high school cross country Footlocker championships, and a two-mile high school state record on the track, running a time of 10:27.20. In her senior year of high school, she anchored Middletown South to the distance medley title at the National Scholastic championship, a team on which she was joined by her twin sister, Maggie.
Cate went on to be an NCAA DI cross country All-American at Boston College, with a best finish of 34th at the national championships in 2000. She was the Big East cross country individual champion in 2001, setting a 6k course record at Van Cortlandt Park of 20:04.
Cate was 55th overall, the 25th American female, at the 2004 ING NYC Marathon, with a personal best of 3:07:18. She finished 24th at the 2009 USATF XC championships.
Cate has her Teacher's License from the University of Colorado at Denver and is working on her MA. She is married to men's team member Jason Robbie and they now have three children: a daughter, Elle; son, Hunter; and youngest daughter Lila.
