The NYAC Track & Field team is surging into the 2010 season with a burst of activity in January. Here’s a glimpse at the highlights in the coming few weeks:

January 8th:  New recruit Rob Novack competes in the Mile at the Metropolitan Coaches Meet at the New Balance Track and Field Center - the famed “Armory” - here in New York.

January 9th: Steve Sherer races the 800 meters at the Los Gatos Open in California.

January 13th: Rob Novack steps to the line at the Armory again, this time in a trial race for the famed Wanamaker Mile.

January 23rd: Liz Maloy runs the mile at the Armory in the New Balance Games.

January 29th: The marquee meet of the US indoor season, the Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden, features two of the NYAC’s all-time greats -  Shotputter Reese Hoffa seeks to regain the Millrose title (he won back-to-back in 2005 and 2006). And the incomparable Tim Seaman will chase his 42nd US national title in the mile racewalk. We also plan to field a NYAC men’s elite 4x800 meter relay, the event that will kick off ESPN’s live broadcast of the meet.
