Founded in 1964, the Knights currently have a membership of 75, all of whom evince care, respect, and concern for the New York Athletic Club by keeping a vigilant eye on the Aquatic Center. In past years, the Knights have been led by such legends as Murray Dobson and the immortal Judge Charlie Murphy. The Knights' membership represents a cross section of NYAC members including past and current Officers and members of the Board of Governors. Holding monthly gatherings on the third Thursday of every month, the Knights have an opportunity to informally have fun and discuss different issues, including the consistent betterment of the Aquatic Center. Gatherings are held in the appointed "Castle" located in the 4th floor Gallery overlooking the pool. The cost for each gathering is $23 per member or guest and includes cheese and fruit, a hearty meal accompanied by dessert and coffee. Of course, bottomless libations are included as well. Gatherings are not held in the summer months of July and August.
