Soccer Club
The NYAC Soccer Club is the social side of the men's and women's highly successful soccer athletic program. As any dedicated soccer fan will tell you, you don’t have to be an active soccer player to have a love for this passionate sport. Anyone who loves watching, playing or talking about soccer, is invited to be a part of the NYAC Soccer Club. Join us for our many social events and happenings through out the year, including our signature Club-wide event – The Soccer Club Bierfest  - coming once again in October 2010. We have numerous mixers and happy hours throughout the year around soccer events, such as the European and World Cup matches, as well as road trips to watch our local MLS/WPL teams and International matches that come to town.

The Soccer Club is committed to supporting NYAC events, and you will find us at the annual All Sports Dinner, Quarter Century Dinner, Olympic Awards events and the TI All-Sports Day to name a few. Join us at Travers Island to cheer on our men's and women's teams.  Although the Soccer Club and the soccer athletic program operate independently, many of the soccer athletes are also soccer club members. We partner to have local youth players serve as ball girls and boys at the games, and organize an annual soccer clinic after one of the NYAC soccer matches at TI.

Members of the Soccer Club have been on the field or cheering in the crowd for many momentous NYAC soccer athletic achievements.  Our men's team has won the Cosmopolitan Soccer League championships numerous times, are regular participants at the National Cup, and recently joined the prestigious NPSL league. The women have won several NY State championships, capturing the regional championship and advancing to the National Final Four tournament four times in the past five years. In 2009, we were national runners-up, and in 2007, the women brought home the national championship to the NYAC. For all of these milestones, Soccer Club members have been in attendance to cheer for the NYAC.

The Soccer Club welcomes new members that are interested in the NYAC soccer social scene or parents that want to expand their children’s exposure to soccer through the NYAC.
