Blake Benke
Blake Benke is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He served in the Marine Corps for five years, where he was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC with the 8th Communication Battalion. In March 2003, he served
as the Commanding Officer of a 100 man communications logistics Company
in Kuwait and Iraq. He got out in May of 2005 with the rank of Captain
and headed to New York City to get his MBA at the Stern School of
Business at NYU.
Upon joining the NYAC Running team, Blake finished 100th place finish at the 2006 ING NYC Marathon with a personal best of 2:36:02. Blake has completed three Ironman triathlon world championship in Kona, HI, where he has a best finish of 10th in his age group. In 2007, Blake finished eighth at the Kiehl’s Badwater ultramarathon, a 135-mile race that starts 280 feet below sea level in Death Valley, CA, and finishes at 8,360 feet on Mount Whitney, CA.
