The New York Athletic Club offers top class and extensive programs for the children of its members.
The Saturday Morning Program is one of the finest traditions of the New York Athletic Club. Founded in 1896, it has introduced countless members' children to the benefits of physical exercise, while also developing life-skills to benefit them into adulthood. Fencing, basketball, soccer, track and field, swimming and the traditional end-of-class tug-of-war are just a few of the activities children enjoy. Some have even developed into NYAC Olympians. The emphasis remains on fitness and fun, however, as evidenced by the dozens of enthusiastic youngsters who flock to the 6th floor Gymnasium every Saturday morning from the beginning of October to mid-March.
The Winged Foot Day Camp is an eight week program that is operated at Travers Island, in Pelham Manor, NY, on the NYAC's 33 park-like acres adjacent to the Long Island Sound. Our experienced professional sports instructors, with the assistance of college-aged counselors, provide instruction and supervision in diversified sports programs including: Basketball, Softball, Soccer, Track & Field, Dance, Arts and Crafts, Swimming, and Karate. |
