Training Facilities

From yoga to boxing, a kaleidoscope of health and fitness activities, including classes,
personal training and state of the art equipment.
The Fitness Center on the fourth floor serves hundreds of members who sign up for individually tailored long-term conditioning and health programs. The staff conducts various fitness tests along with a standard 90 day follow-up for maximum benefit. Personal training, Pilates instruction, fitness classes and lectures are available to members. The attentiveness of the staff makes it one of the NYAC's greatest assets.

The gymnasium houses state of the art treadmills, stationary bikes, a fitness studio, running track, full-sized basketball court, free weights and all manner of cardio and weight-training equipment.

If squash and racquetball are your games, the NYAC's exceptional facilities will be irresistible. The brand
new courts on the 7th floor, two being international, are alive with all levels of competition, from the raw novice to the nationally ranked. It's also a popular place to socialize and get tips on your game. Better still, our teaching professionals can offer instruction and insight to take you to that next level.

The NYAC is a bastion of handball. Our tradition in that sport goes back through the ages and remains as steadfast as ever. Located on the 21st floor, our handball courts invariably offer a warm welcome to members and friends who schedule court-time, or those who drop by in the hope of an impromptu match.

If you feel like throwing your - or somebody else's - weight around, the NYAC 7th floor dojo is the place to do it. Judo workouts take place at the City House several time a week, with first rate instruction for the raw novice and the world class black belt. The Club's martial artists are as sociable as they are skilled, however. So pay a visit; they'll be delighted to throw you around.

The sport of competitive fencing was introduced to the USA by members of the NYAC. The tradition continues with junior and senior fencing programs that emphasize foils and fun, epees and instruction, sabers and socializing. Our top ranked instructors ensure that fencers learn all the essential skills while also enjoying an activity they can take part in for a lifetime.
